I’ll admit it, I was a bit worried when I saw the first pictures from Madonna’s current Sticky and Sweet Tour. Then when I saw the set list, the worry increased. I had no doubt that Madonna would put on an enjoyable show, it just seemed from all the info I was getting in pieces, that this one might be a bit lack luster. However, I am pleased to say that the Queen more than met the challenges facing her and kicked serious ass, both sticky and sweet!
This 50 year old chameleon once again showed the world that she, in fact, knows exactly what she’s doing. Sticky and Sweet is packed with none stop action. Every dance move is energized, every song fitting and worked to sound even better than ever. Madonna was on form, having fun and proving all the naysayers wrong with each thrust.
The topper of it all, at least to me, is that I got to experience the whole thing up close and personal. Yes, Madonna was only inches away and our connection deepened with every burst of energy I gave her each time she spied my way. The best of all? Her pointed acknowledgement of my home-made t-shirt praising Her Madgesty.
In the middle of Candy Shop, Madonna pointed right at me (and my t-shirt), marking me as her Turkish Delight.
It couldn’t have gotten any sweeter…
